BudgetBuddy ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your personal information when you use the BudgetBuddy mobile application ("App").

1. Information We Collect

When you use BudgetBuddy, we collect the following information that you voluntarily provide:

• Account Information: First name, last name, and email address (provided during registration).
• Profile Information: Date of birth, number of dependents, zip code, location, annual household income, and marital status.
• Financial Information: Monthly expense amounts across categories such as housing, utilities, groceries, transportation, and others that you choose to enter.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information you provide to:

• Create and maintain your account.
• Display your budget breakdown and expense summaries within the App.
• Show general, anonymized comparisons with aggregated data from users in similar demographic groups.
• Improve the App's features and user experience.

We do not use your information to provide personalized financial advice, recommendations, or guidance of any kind.

3. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, a cloud-based database platform with industry-standard encryption. We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, or destruction.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties. Your data is used solely for the purposes described in this policy. We may share anonymized, aggregated data that cannot be used to identify you.

5. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your personal data through the App's profile and settings screens.
• Update your information at any time via the Edit Profile feature.
• Delete your account and all associated data permanently using the "Delete Account" option in Settings.

6. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, all personal data is permanently removed from our servers within 30 days.

7. Children's Privacy

BudgetBuddy is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the updated policy within the App. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
